Founding of Rome

There are two legends on how Rome was founded one is that after the Trojan War Aeneas and and the other Trojans went in search of another place to live. After many adventures, the Trojans landed at the mouth of Tiber. Through warfare and then marrige to the local king's daughter, Aeneas united Trojans and the Latins, the local people. He then became the "father" of Rome. The other myth is to twins named Romulus and Remus were abandoned near the Tiber river and were rescued by a wolf that raised them near a shepherd. When they got older they wanted to build a city Romulus started building walls he's Romulus lashed out and killed his brother Remus. Rome though has actually founded historians think that Latins lived in the area of Rome as early as 1000B.C. They built huts on Rome's hills, tended herds, and grew crops. Sometimes between 800 B.C., they deiced to band together for protection. It was this community that became known as Rome.
