How geography and climate of the Italian peninsula affected the development of ancient Rome.

Geography has helped for one reason because of the soil on top of the mountains it helped because they could supple more food for more people. Also the mountains that Rome were on made it easy to no if they were getting attacked by pirates or other Navy's/ Army's. The climate also helped ingrowing food.
